Guidance for girls and their parents

Some conversations are hard to start at home. Choose who you are and a topic, and we will give you practical words to open the conversation.

Body changes and puberty

Your body is changing, and it is normal to have questions. Your mother, father or guardian went through changes too, even if they find it hard to talk about.

Ways to start the conversation

Copy a message and send it, or say it in your own words.

  • Mummy, can I ask you something about my body? I just want to understand it better.

  • Some of my friends have started their period and I have questions. When is a good time to talk?

  • I feel shy asking this, but I would rather hear it from you than from my friends.
